On this page you will find various

ways in which you can help your

                                  local shelters.

The help shelters need does not necessarily

mean adopting animals out but also by donations and

other ideas to help ease their trauma. These could be

monetary or simply supplies.

PLEASE... DO NOT FORGET...

DONATIONS OF ANY KIND ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE

OTHER TYPES OF DONATIONS

YOUR SHELTER MAY NEED

Below is a Wish List that you can use as an example of things that your local
shelter may need. You might want to call your shelter first to make sure you
are bringing them needed supplies. Also, check what types of food and litter
the shelter uses before buying.

EXAMPLE WISH LIST:

PET SUPPLIES

HOME SUPPLIES

cat & dog food paper towels
cat & dog treats toilet paper
kitty litter scoopers q-tips
safe cat & dog toys blankets & towels
kitten & puppy milk replacer
cat litter & litter boxes trash bags
clipper blades sheets
flea shampoo newspaper
cat scratching posts bleach
grooming supplies dish/laundry soap
pet crates/carriers laundry baskets
collars/leashes cleaning supplies
  office supplies including equipment

Or you could simply offer your services and time.

You could buy us a bag of food when you buy for your own pet?

Can you come in and talk to the cats?  Walk the dogs?

We are so busy running the place that we often don't have time.

You could go to your friend or neighbor and offer to get
their pet spayed/neutered?  You could trap one of those stray cats in your
neighborhood and get it vaccinated and neutered?  That will be one more
free-roaming cat that's out of the reproduction loop.
Maybe you could just send a small check to say "thank you".

PROJECT HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Here's the idea: Many of us celebrate our pets' birthdays or the anniversary
of their arrival in our home. This year, as part of your celebration, make a
donation to your local animal shelter, humane society, or other animal
welfare group. It needn't be a lot of money. If every pet owner contributed
$5.00 to honor their pets' birthdays, our shelters would receive millions of
dollars! Please pass this idea on. If we all give a little, we can make a big
difference in the lives of homeless animals.

Then they might have a "happy birthday" too.
